The Technology Innovation Agency, TIA, has announced that the Board has engaged with its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Barlow Manilal, and has agreed that his contract will not be renewed and that he will leave the organisation at the end of June 2019.

Mr Barlow Manilal commenced his appointment on 1st April 2015, during a challenging period post the merging of seven DST entities, and following the Ministerial Review of 2013. During this time TIA has addressed a number of substantive matters of governance, resulting an unqualified clean audit for the past 4 consecutive years. The Board is satisfied that TIA has substantially achieved its Annual Performance Plan as committed to Parliament.

The Board has extended their sincere appreciation to Mr Barlow Manilal for his contribution and sacrifices over the past four years and wish him well in his future endeavours.

The process to recruit a new CEO will commence immediately. The Board has appointed Ms Fuzlin Levy-Hassen as the interim CEO with effect from 13 June 2019. Ms Levy-Hassen has been a TIA Board member, but has resigned from the TIA Board.
