The Technology Platforms Programme (TPP) was established with the aim to facilitate access to cutting-edge technological capabilities by investing in and supporting entities to acquire appropriate technologies and expertise that lower the barriers to innovation.

“The Technology Platform Programme (TPP) has been designed by TIA to fund and support the establishment and operations of technology platforms. The technology platforms facilitate access to key state-of-the-art infrastructure and expertise in targeted technology areas thereby lowering the barriers for others to innovate.

There are currently 8 TIA-funded technology platforms across South Africa established to develop new products, processes and services for the biotechnology sector.
