Engineering Services`s objectives is to stimulate and accelerate the mutually beneficial inter-actions between Universities (of Technology) and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and specific Industry via the intermediary services of Technology Transfer Centres (called Technology Stations). Industrial Biotechnology Sector Unit (IBSU)

The Industrial Biotechnology sector is one of the three biotechnology sectors within TIA. It focuses on the application for the environmentally friendly and sustainable production and processing of biochemicals, biomaterials and bioenergy, as well as biominerals from renewable resources using living organisms or their enzymes. The processes utilised are generally cleaner, generate very little waste and require less energy than existing processes. Industrial biotechnology is generally referred to as ‘white’ biotechnology.
